Frequently Asked Questions:

What does a VO2 max test involve?

The VO2 max test is a controlled exercise assessment done on a treadmill.  You will be wearing a mask that measures oxygen consumption and breathing efficiency, and a heart rate strap.  The test starts nice and easy, and gradually increases in intensity (speed and/or incline) until you reach your maximum effort.  The test usually lasts 8-15 minutes.

I hate running/am unable to run can I do anything besides the treadmill.

You wont necessarily have to run as some protocols can be strictly walking.  BUT, if you have access to a bike/rowing machine I will happily come to you and conduct the test at an additional cost for travel.  But if you are physically able to walk/run, I suggest pushing your comfort zone and hopping on the treadmill :)

I am super out of shape - how am I going to do it?

Don't worry.  This test meets you wherever you are and will assess your current fitness, giving you the tools to improve at your own pace.

What does a Resting Metabolic Test Involve?

The RMR test is testing your metabolic rate.....at rest.  Meaning, you will be set up in the most relaxed, comfortable, quiet setting while we measure your oxygen consumption via a mask.

I've been waiting months for a VO2 max/breathing test at the hospital, can you diagnose cardiac or lung issues?

No. These tests are designed to provide insights into your overall fitness, metabolic function, and breathing patterns not to diagnose or treat medical conditions.

Who are these tests for?

These assessments are for athletes of all levels, health and wellness enthusiasts, or anyone who is curious about their health and performanc metrics.  Whether you're looking to optimize training, manage stress, or simply understand your body better - these tests help provide actionable data to help guide your journey.
